Tip #65: How to allow Certain Users Access to Your Paid Membership Without Paying

In some cases you would want to allow specific users free access to your paid membership site, for example:

• If you are managing a forum and you want to allow access to moderators
• If you want to give free access as a bonus / gift
•  If you have several writers or contributors

How to Provide Free Access to Certain Users

1. Provide the Direct Registration Link

The direct registration link for each membership level can be found in Wishlist Member settings under the Levels tab as seen in the below screenshot:

This option is less recommended as it is not secure and users can pass the link to others.

Sure, you can delete any unwanted users who will pass through the direct link at any point, but it can be quite difficult to track, especially if you have lots of registrations, plus, the direct link looks pretty ugly and it looks kinda unprofessional.

2. Generate Coupon Codes (Recommended)

If you are using a payment gateway that includes a feature of coupons creation, for example: InfusionSoft, Stripe etc. or you can create coupons and set the percentage of discount, duration and even an expiration date of the coupon.

If you are using a payment gateway that does not include a coupon creation feature, for example: PayPal or ClickBank, you can use Wishlist Coupon 2.0, which is a plugin developed by the Wishlist Member team, to generate coupons.

This option is more recommended, more secure and also looks a lot more professional.

Automate the Registration Process for Paying Members

No matter which option you choose or which payment gateway you are using, we highly recommend to automate the registration process to your membership site, as it will make the whole registration process a lot easier and less frustrating for your members.

Also, it will help eliminate any incomplete and  / or duplicate registrations.
