Tip #8: 6 Free Excellent Plugins for Managing Your Membership Site Better

I have gathered 6 of the most popular plugins we are using on a regular basis in our clients’ websites as well as on our websites.

All the plugins are free for download and using them will save you time and money.

1. Duplicate Post

Allows you to easily duplicate any post or page you want.

This plugin comes in handy for us all the time, especially when we build membership sites for our customers, especially if there are multiple pages/ posts that need to be created and they all need to include the same specifications.

Though it does not save the protection settings of the post you clone, it can still save you a lot of time in creating your content and defining certain specifications.

2. Limit Login Attempts

This plugin is simple and it basically limits the login attempts to your site by cookie or IP.

3. Shortcode Anywhere

Allows you to add shortcodes anywhere you want on your site: text widgets, comments, experts, categories, tags and taxonomy descriptions.

This plugin was developed by our team and is available in HappyPlugins – our online store.

4. Shortcodes Ultimate

Excellent plugin that gives you the ability to add different shortcodes from a complete list of shortcodes available to give your site a professional look and feel.

5. Single Shortcode

Another plugin we are using on a regular basis is this one. The plugin basically allows you to display parts of your content only to visitors who enter the post itself (“single”) or to visitors who see the excerpt of it from the homepage.

It can be very handy if, for example, you are selling paid posts individually and you want to add a “sales pitch” that will be seen only from the homepage.

All you need to do is add the shortcode: [ excerpt ] content here [ /excerpt ] and members who enter the post itself won’t see it.

6. Widget on Pages

Allows you to add widgets in any post or page you like. We and several of our clients are using this plugin with the Wishlist Registration Widget plugin to display the registration form inside posts and pages.
