Traffic is the most important factor to every new website, service or product you want to sell. Without traffic even the best service or product will fail.

The importance of having the ability to attract massive amount of traffic is significant: Massive amount of traffic in a short period of time will help you figure out what is not working.

You will be able to analyze your analytics data, see at what point visitors leave your site etc. and allow you to make necessary adjustments fast.

Also, you will be able to know very quickly if people really are interested in your service. Sometimes people are caught in the fantasy of how their product is going to be so popular and successful, they feel really down when in the end, it fails.

We wrote a list of all the possible ways to bring traffic to your site. We currently have 80 different ways…

80 Ways to Bring Traffic to Your Site

  1. SEO  – If you have a  magazine type membership site (such as: Wishlist Insider for example), you can optimize the content before the “read more” to SEO or create a blog for fully protected sites such as online courses or downloadable products.
  2. Google Adwords – Search and display network
  3. Google Remarketing – Tag visitors and show them ads and get them back to your site.
  4. Media Buying – Buying ad-spaces in relevant sites.
  5. Media buying Networks – For example: AdBrite.com, Advertise.com etc.
  6. Blog Comments – Searching on Google for relevant blogs online + using Google alerts to get updates on fresh new relevant content. Make sure you write interesting and relevant comments, or you will create an impression of a spammer and that will give you bad reputation.
  7. Facebook Ads – Boosting your posts for more exposure (“suggested post”).
  8. Facebook Ads – Ads that appear in the right side on Facebook.
  9. Article Websites and Directories – Such as: EzineArticles, hubpages, squidoo etc. We personally don’t believe this method is very useful since these sites took a huge hit from Google, but you can try it for yourself.
  10. Guest Posts – In sites relevant to your niche. You can approach bloggers through mail asking to publish a guest post in their blog. If you provide good valuable content to their readers, in most cases they won’t say no.
  11. Facebook Fan Page – If you have a fan page, you can post information with links to your site.
  12. Colleagues and Business Partners Business Pages – They can publish a recommendation about your business or service on their business page with a link to your site.
  13. Satellite Sites – Create mini-sites with long tail keywords who have very few searches and add links to your main website.
  14. Your Personal Mailing Lists – Sending emails to your email list, and add a link back to your site, so, for example: if you published a new post, send only an overview of the post and add a link to read the rest of the post inside your website. Don’t publish all the post inside the email, because it won’t give people a reason to enter your website.
  15. Buying Mailing Lists – You can buy a complete email list or just buy a “one-time” email to send.
  16. Influential People’s Lists – Establish partnerships with influential people in your industry/ niche and ask them to send an email with a recommendation about your service/ product. This is a very powerful way to divert traffic to your site, since influential people usually have a strong community.
  17. YouTube Videos – Upload interesting videos and share them. If your videos will be interesting, people will automatically share them too. Don’t forget to add a link to your site inside the video and also in the description.
  18. Vimeo – Another great website to upload videos too.
  19. Tweeter – Share interesting tweets and grab attention from others, so they would want to share your information. This is a great way to get new followers.
  20. StumbleUpon – Follow other stumblers with the same interests like you, post interesting content (not only your own content), publish on StumbleUpon Paid Discovery and use stumble Upon badges on your site.
  21. Reddit – Post unique and interesting content like info graphics, videos, questions, interviews etc. plus you can buy paid traffic to show all across Reddit or only to more targeted people you choose.
  22. Slideshare.net – Upload free presentations and link back to your website. Make sure you upload only high quality content, so the method will actually be effective.
  23. Scribd.com – Another service similar to SlideShare.
  24. Pinterest – Upload interesting photos people would want to share and add a link to your site.
  25. Social Buttons – Add social buttons to your site so people who through your content is useful will be able to thank you by spreading it in their favorite social networks.
  26. LinkedIn – Publish your business website’s URL in your profile, find people to connect with, write recommendations (genuine) to get more exposure, show your presence and basically be an active user.
  27. Google Hangouts – Run webinars and tutorial sessions through Google hangouts, increase your appearance online and grow your audience.
  28. Google Plus – Contact with your targeted audience through Google+: connect with people, create circles, send targeted messages, publish interesting content etc.
  29. Forums – Post threads in forums relevant to your niche and add your signature so it will show in the bottom of each thread you write. Each forum has its own rules about adding your signature to the threads so be sure to check it out first.
  30. Recruit Affiliates – Affiliates also usually have communities they can expose your product/ service to. If you want affiliates to market you, make sure you give them all the tools to do so, such as: banner ads, links to inner pages and not only to the homepage, special coupons for their readers etc.
  31. Refer a Friend Program – Offer a Discount for customers who refer a certain number of friends to your product/ service.
  32. WordPress Directory – If you have a programmer or you are one yourself, you can develop simple plugins, upload them to WordPress directory and add links to your website.
  33. Buy Links in Relevant Websites – You can by ad places in websites related to your niche.
  34. Wiki How/ Wikipedia – Publish content on Wiki How/ Wikipedia and add links to your site.

  40. Digg.com – Share your own posts and also other people’s posts on topics related to your niche. These people will probably thank you for sharing their content by doing the same.
  41. Yahoo Buzz – Post stories on Yahoo Buzz. Make sure you follow Yahoo’s guidelines before submitting any stories.
  42. Question Sites – Answer questions in question sites such as: Yahoo answers, fluther.com, quora.com, stackoverflow
  43. Amazon.com – Sell eBooks for small prices to generate traffic to your main site. The price is not the issue, so keep the prices low.
  44. Craiglist.org – post ads about your services.
  45. Translate to Various languages – If your content can be relevant in other languages, translate it and make it accessible to more people.
  46. Quizzes/ Surveys – Create quizzes and services in websites such as: survey monkey etc.
  47. Optimize Your 404 Page – Many sites owners ignore this page, but if you design it correctly and add links to relevant content, it may help you get a lot more traffic.
  48. Optimize Your Membership Site’s Error Pages – Same goes for your error pages. The 3 main error pages are: “wrong membership level”, “membership cancelled”and “non-members”. By creating targeted error pages you can increase registrations to your membership site tremendously.
  49. QR Codes – QR codes have become very popular in the past few years. You can add a QR code to your business card, flyers, landing pages etc. Make sure the QR code redirects people to a mobile-optimized page.
  50. Instegram – Upload photos to Instegram and attract new followers.

  68. Dmoz – If you have an established business website, you can send a request to add it to Dmoz directory. Please note hat they are very strict about who they confirm to their directory.
  69. Strong Titles – Create posts with titles such as: “10 most…”, “15 Tips…” etc. and release them as individual squeeze pages or 1 page websites. People are attracted to these types of titles.
  70. Be Personal – Upload personal pictures, write personal content. People love the feeling that there is a real person with a real story behind and are more likely to engage with you, share your stuff and come back to your site.
  71. Be Active in Communities – Be an active member in communities relevant to your audience.
  72. Pay Affiliates per Lead– Not many do so, but affiliates just love leads, since they are not paid for sale, but for every lead they bring you. This can really bounce your traffic.
  73. Interview with Interesting People – Do interviews with people who are known in their field and publish them in social sites, in your website/ blog etc. and, of course, in the site of the person you interviewed.
  74. Create Info Graphics – People love info-graphics so start creating some that are relevant to your niche and release them anywhere you can.
  75. Brand Every Document – Do fixed branding to each material you release, whether it’s free or paid. Add you logo, a link to your site and some more information if you want.
  76. Newsletters in a Periodic Basis – Release newsletters on a weekly/ monthly basis. You will be surprised how many people will be waiting for your next newsletters. It’s a great way to increase engagement to your site.
  77. Facebook Comments – Add Facebook comments plugin to your site, so when people write a comment, it will be seen on Facebook by their friends.
  78. Create Online/ Offline Events – People love events, and this way you will be able to expose yourself to new people you might not have met otherwise.
  79. Buy traffic from OutBrain.com – Your content will appear in the “related posts” section in other sites that are related to your niche.
  80. Email Signature – Add important links such as: your website’s link, Facebook business page etc. in every email you release to drive traffic back to your site.
