December 24, 2014 0 Comments
Email lists are very powerful and they can help you communicate and stay in touch with your members.
In this tip I gathered 10 of the most powerful tactics that helped us increase our emails open rates as well as response rates significantly over the past year.
These tips are not limited to membership sites owners, but are important for everyone who is using email lists to grow his business.
As a membership site owner these tips can also help you keep higher registration and retention rates.
10 Tactics for Higher Open and Response Rates:
1. Add a name in the from field, for example: Dana at HappyPlugins.com
2. Don’t use a general email but a personal one, for example: dana [at] happyplugins.com instead of info [at] happyplugins.com
3. Ask your subscribers to reply to the email if you want their opinion on something or if they have any questions or hesitations and tell them you will personally reply back so they would know there is a real person behind the emails and will be able to connect with you.
4. Don’t use a general unrelated subject line that will not be related to the content inside the email, as it may make more people click o open the email , but it probably won’t make them take any action, since the moment they will realize the email is not related to the subject, they are more likely to just leave.
5. Add the benefit to your subscribers that answers the “what’s in it for me” in the subject line, for example: “Get 30% Discount on all Our Plugins” / “Get Free Access to Our Special Tips Series” to encourage them to click on the email.
6. Don’t link words but use the complete link, people love to know where they are going to be redirected to.
7. Use your company’s / website’s logo and link it to your website, and if you are referring to a specific post, link the logo to that specific post.
8. Create different email lists according to interests (free stuff / updates / special deals etc.) so you will know what your subscribers are expecting to get from you and so that you will be able to target the emails better.
9. Stay in touch with your email subscribers and send them emails on a regular basis. The best way to do it is to create automatic emails that will be scheduled to be sent in the future, for example: On day 7 / 14 / 21 etc. and be sure to update these emails from time to time to make sure the content is still relevant.
10. In addition, make sure not all emails are sale oriented, provide your subscribers with free and useful information that would make them want to open your emails.
