Tip #28: 5 Powerful Tactics to Increase the Registration Rates to Your Membership Site
November 3, 2014 1 Comment
In this tip we have collected 5 of these tactics and gathered them in this tip…
If you are looking for new ways to increase the registrations to your membership site then this tip is definitely for you.
1. Optimize the Error Pages
I come across many membership sites on a daily basis, and I notice that many of them are not taking advantage of the error pages to increase the registrations, and I think it’s really a waste of quality traffic…
Visitors usually enter the error page when they click on a page that seems interesting to them.
These are people who might easily turn into clients…
That is why you MUST look at these error pages as an opportunity to increase your revenues and registration rates.
Treat your error pages as sales letters and design them like sales letters.
2. Provide “Sneak Peeks” to Protected Content
By protecting posts and using the Read More tag you can make sure that some content will be visible from the homepage (excerpt) and the rest of the content will be available for members only (when entering the post itself).
Take advantage of the content before the Read More tag and adjust the content to sell what’s inside the post.
For example, in our Wishlist Member Tips Series we provide in the excerpt an introduction to the content in the tip plus summarize in bullets the key things we go over in the tip.
After we started doing so with all our tips, the registration rates to our free membership increased significantly.
3. Create a Free Membership
By creating a free membership you can build your email list more easily, provide quality content for free, gain your members’ trust and increase the registration rates to your paid membership.
4. Make Sure the Registration Form is Visible
Assuming you already have a free membership / you are in the process of having one…
Make sure the registration form is visible enough so that visitors who come to your site will see it, no matter what page or post they are in.
For Wishlist Member membership sites you can use Wishlist Registration Widget plugin to display sidebar widget registration form and design it to your needs.
5. Test Test Test
Make sure you constantly test how the different elements in your membership site are performing, from the sales page to the error pages, email templates, registration form etc. Don’t be afraid to re-design them and see how they work.
