It’s common to think that it’s OK to add affiliate links only to free members only since they are free information, and when it comes to paying members, its’ better to leave the affiliate links out.

The thing is that is not always black and white, but it it depends on your relationship with your members, how much they trust you, how much they are engaged with you and more.

If you have established a good relationship with your members, they value your opinions and are actually looking to hear what you have t say about different services and products, then it’s definitely OK to use affiliate links.

  1. Make sure you are using or have used the service or product you recommend about
  2. Always give your honest point of view and experience, even if it’s not so good
  3. If you are not satisfied with the product, the best way that is working for many of our clients is simply giving pros and cons and letting your members decide
  4. Write a disclaimer that you are using affiliate links (in the Privacy Policy/ About/ Homepage etc.)
  5. Include a non-affiliated link beside the affiliated one and let your members decide which one to use
  6. If you are using affiliate links mainly to help with the website’s expenses, you can share this with your members
  7. You can donate a percentage of the affiliate earnings to an organization of your choice and let your members know about it
