Tip #19: 7 Powerful Tactics That Increased Our Revenues in 500%

Obviously, every business owner is constantly looking for ways to increase his revenues.

In the last year we have made some very important changes that help us grow our earnings in over 500%.

These tactics are not limited to membership sites, however, if you are running a monthly-based subscription business, these tactics are even more powerful.

These are 7 of the Actions We Took

1. Optimized our membership sites’ error pages

The error pages are a very important part of a membership site.

Unfortunately, we notice that many membership sites owners are not taking the time to really optimize it to increase their conversion rates.

You see, when a visitor lands on your error page it means that we tried to access protected content, which means you got his attention, which also means you have much higher chances of converting him to a member.

Use the error pages as sales letters and your conversion rates will increase for sure.

2. linked niche sites to one another

We own many active websites and membership sites, and we use their traffic to shift visitors and potential clients from one site to another.

We add links inside posts/ pages/ sidebar widgets and other locations depending on what we want to achieve.

3. Added the Hello Bar 

If you still don’t know what is the Hello Bar plugin, then it’s time you get familiar with it.

The Hello Bar allows you to add a colored bar that will appear at the top of your website, above the header to attract the attention of your visitors.

You can use it to add a link to any site/ page you like, split test different bars, customize the look and feel and even get conversion rates statistics.

We have been using it for quite sometime now and it simply works.

4. Started using Google Analytics UTM links in every link we create

Google allows you to add different parameters to your URLs in order to get detailed information about your internal links and track conversions resources.

You can download “Google Analytics URL Builder” add-on for Chrome browser and tag your links.

This will allow you to receive detailed information about your traffic in Google Analytics reports.

For example, Instead of using this link:

You should use this tracking link:

We are practically using UTM links everywhere we drop a link to one of our websites, whether it’s an email, forum signature, blog post or even in support tickets.

5. Started sending autoresponders on a regular basis

One thing that really increased our revenues is staying in touch with our clients and members.

We are sending emails to our mailing lists at least once a week with different useful information, updates or any other relevant email they might find useful.

The best thing that works for us is combining automatic emails that are dripped every X number of days we determine plus emails we send on the spot if we have an important message or announcement to make.

We keep all our automatic emails documented in an excel file and we go over it from time to time to adjust the emails and switch on and off the relevant ones only.

3. Started answering emails through our websites rather than by emails

Naturally, when you start getting visitors and clients and people start seeing you as an authority, people start sending you emails asking for your advise or answers.

We decided to leverage these emails and turn them into a source of new materials for our websites.

For example, when clients ask us questions about Wishlist Member we simply post the question + answer in the category “Visitors Questions” in this website and send them an email with a link to the answer inside the website.

This is a great way to bringing them back to your website and engaging them.

7. Opened an online store for our products

If you are selling stand-alone products, then creating an online store can help increase your revenues tremendously.

We will write about it more thoroughly in a different post, since there’s so much to say about the benefits of building an online store, but one major benefit of running an online store is the ability to give people the option to purchase many products once by adding all of them to the cart and make one purchase only.

We have created our online store – HappyPlugins.com that sells commercial plugins we developed and guides.

The store is based on the Easy Digital Downloads platform which is excellent for digital products.

In Conclusion…

Using these exact tactics we managed to increase our revenues in more than 500%.

There are so many ways to increasing your revenues, all you need to do is be a little bit creative and also see what others are doing and test it yourself.
