Many membership sites owners want to know how they can accomplish different protection settings, such as: hide specific content from members, how to display content for limited amount of time, how to change the protection settings of their content and more.

This tip is a must-have for practically every membership site owner as in this tip you will find many ways you can use to display content to your members to increase their anticipation and urgency and maximize your revenues.

5 Methods to Hiding / Archiving Content from Members

1. The Sequential Upgrade Feature

The Sequential Upgrade feature allows you to move members from one membership level to another after every number of days you define.

So, for example, you can prevent access from members to all the content in a specific membership level after x number of days.

The benefit to using this option: if you have a simple membership site with only few protected pages then this option is relevant for you.

However, if you are building a more complex membership site with lots of protected pages and several membership levels then this option is not suitable for you as you will need to create too many levels that will make it difficult for you to manage your membership site and even extend it in the future.

The disadvantage of this option is that you cannot prevent access only to specific posts or pages within a membership level using the sequential upgrade, and the only way is to move the member to another level after a period of time.

2. Wishlist Member Private Tags

The private tags allow you to display specific content only to the membership levels you choose within your membership site.

The benefit is that you can display pieces of content within any post or page using a simple shortcode.

You can also set a reverse private tag that will hide the content from specific membership levels.

However, you cannot display the content for a limited period of time, but as long as the private tag exists, the content will be displayed only to the levels you specify.

You can access the private tag by editing any post or page and clicking on the blue Wishlist Member icon.

3. Wishlist Content Archiver Plugin

Wishlist Content Archiver is a plugin that allows you to archive content content after a specific date so that only the members who belonged to your membership when that content was released will have ongoing access.

The advantage of the plugin is that you can protect any post or page to be archived at a specific date.

4. Wishlist Auto Protect Pro

Wishlist Auto Protect allows you to automatically change the protection setting of any post or page after a period of time or at a specific date, for example: you can change specific content from protected to unprotected and the opposite, from levels to pay-per-posts and the opposite, from levels to other levels and more.
