Tip #45: Reasons Why You Should Limit the Registration Capacity to Your Membership Site

Have you ever thought about limiting the registration capacity to your membership site?
If not, than you really should read this week’s tip as in this tip we give you 3 very important reasons why you should limit the registration capacity and how it can actually increase both your registration and retention rates.
3 Important Reasons to Limiting Your Registration Capacity
Reason #1: Increasing the Urgency Among New Potential Members
Simple yet powerful trick, just like when using countdown. By limiting the registration capacity you help people take action and encourage them to take it faster.
Instead of giving them all the time in the world, which if they take it, they might pass and you will lose them for good, they will be forced to make a decision almost on the spot.
And if you want to increase the urgency even more (a lot more…) you can add real-time statistics to your sales page that displays the number of your existing members, so deliberating people will see how the spots to your membership site are decreasing as they continue to deliberate.
Reason #2: Preventing Existing Members from Cancelling their Subscription
Not all members cancel their subscription because they are not interested in what you are selling, but sometimes, they just don’t make the time in their busy schedule to enter the site and start consuming your content.
If you limit the registration capacity, those members will know that once they leave, the next time they will have a chance to re-register may be in months / years etc.
So by limiting the registration capacity you are actually encouraging them to pause and think before they cancel if they really do want to do it or if what you are offering is important enough so they can find the time to consume it.
I promise you that some will decide to stay and even start participating and becoming active members.
Reason #3: Having the Ability to Deal with the Number of Current Members
This is highly important, especially if you are basically running your membership site on your own and you don’t have a staff that can answer members’ questions (in the forum, email, comments etc.), make sure they understand the content you provide and more.
If you will have hundreds of members but you will not be available for them, you will eventually lose, because members will probably start to walk away and cancel their subscription.
How Can You Limit the Registration Capacity Using Wishlist Member?
Wishlist Registration Cap allows you to limit the number of registrations for a certain membership level inside your membership site.
Using the plugin is very simple, all you need to do is set the capacity in the plugin`s setting, add the shortcodes into the relevant post or page and that`s it.
You can also use simple shortcodes to present your users the number of used and remaining registrations.
This is an excellent way to urge people to register to your membership site or upgrade their current membership level, depending on the offer you give them.
You can use the plugin to promote different offers on your membership site and increase your conversion rates tremendously.
